Streszczenie / Summary:

The subject of this paper is the measurement of temperature in the process of heating a cemented carbide with a moving heat source and determining the influence of technological parameters on the achieved temperature of the sample surface. The aim of the heating procedure was to obtain the effect of carbide “softening”, which would allow to extend the tool’s life in the process of laser assisted machining. The tests were carried out in the laboratory of laser technology at Poznan University of Technology. The measurements were made using two infrared radiation pyrometers at two zones of measurement. The obtained results allowed to clearly determine the effect of technological parameters on the surface’s temperature and permitted an evaluation of certain properties of material that affect the energy absorption.
