The paper concerns problems of modeling and calculation of modern foundation bolted joints
of heavy machinery and technical equipment, generating large dynamic forces. A significant progress
in this area has been made by the development and application of special polymer materials
for anchoring the bolts and for foundation chocks. The modern bolted joints form complex mechanical
systems, made of steel, plastic and concrete. The paper discusses the specificity of these
joints. It has been shown that the conventional methods and formulas, known from the subject
literature and engineering practice cannot be used for their calculations. A method of how to model
and calculate such joints has been presented, using for this purpose the FEM.
The entire elaboration consists of two parts. Part I describes how to determine the basic joint
diagram for the assembly state of the joint, and Part II – how to determine the joint diagram for the
operational state of the joint, and its scientific and practical importance.
